Kvinnene i landsbyane Nsokolo og Mambwe fekk tildelt dei dei to første symaskinene i 2001.

On 13th November, 2002 Mrs Chungu, Mrs Kabungo, Mrs Kalaluka and I Jane went to officially hand over the sewing machines to the Women in Nondo and Mwiluzi. 

The first hand over of the machine was at Mwiluzi. We met women from different clubs; such as Hope foundation, Mwiluzi main, Chilibwe and Buyantashi.  The sewing machines were given to all the women regardless of club affiliation . 

Hence the machines were given in the name of EMBLA and at both stations elections were held to chose a committee to over see the use of the machines.

 

At Nondo we met women from the following clubs:  Chomba, Nondo main, Bwafwano. The same was done at Nondo main also a committee of women were elected to over see the use of the machines.

Women were very happy to receive the machines as you will seee on the pictures when they come later.
